A quirky heroine, a staid hero, a cast of believable characters and a hog farm. What more could a reader ask for? How about several chuckles along the way and an unconventional, feel-good ending?

As much as I enjoyed the read, I enjoyed the ending more. The H/h didn’t resolve their differences. There was no miracle cure. Rather they overcame their differences. I was left with the feeling that they even celebrated their differences.

I found myself smiling at the end. In fact, I’m still smiling as I’m writing this.

I’m an indie author, but don’t let that that tag put you off. I’m in with a very select group of people because we try harder. We have to. We aren’t backed up by an agent, editor, publicist or cover artist. We only have each other to rely on and we’ve become a very tight-knit community. One of the things I hope to do here is give you some insight into this wonderful community of people and how we work together to publish the best work possible.

I’ll also be talking about books I’ve read, not as a formal reviewer, but just posting my thoughts on what I’m reading. This will include classics, traditionally published works and indie works. I won’t be accepting any books for review because I don’t want to turn this into a review site. Since I spend quite a bit of time writing, I don’t spend as much time reading as I’d like. I get in about half an hour before bed and maybe 15 minutes at a time during the day whenever I can squeeze it in.

Then, of course, I’ll keep you updated on what I’m writing and any interviews, sponsorships or giveaways I’m participating in.
